Thanks to the long working hours of the week gone by, I found myself at the receiving end from the ladies in the house. I was promptly informed that kitchen will be completely in my control on Saturday and I was expected to cook something out of the world!! Not sure what they meant because the recipe I found was from cyber world, and these days the virtual world is very much a part of the real world.
For the main dish of the day, I visited http://www.sanjeevkapoor.com and
tried dishing out Char Dal Ni Kichdi (as in Kichdi made from 4 varieties of Gram). The recipe turned out very well and was quite a hit with the missus. But what made me a runaway hit that day was my innovative Gundu Kadabus or Gol Modhak.
It turned out so that there were a few Gol Gappes left (Pani Puri as it is more illustriously known) from the previous week’s Gol Gappe Bash. I picked up one piece and tasted it. The taste of the Gol Gappe reminded me of the Kobbari Sakkare Kadabus (Naariyal Shakkar Modhak).
A light bulb flashed above my head, in typical comic ishtyle. I picked up some Desiccated Coconut, Sugar, Green Cardamom powder and fried it in a pan with home-made Ghee for about 2-3 minutes. I started filling in the Gol Gappes with this mixture. Lo Behold!!! The Gundu Kadabus were ready to be feasted upon. Missus and the little one happily called for successive helpings and gorged on them.
